Novembers' set subject was "High Key" and a lot of us had trouble with that one.   Its not so easy as it seems.  Our Judge was John Hodgson and he was fair and considered in his critique but scored on the low side.  

Consequently there are not so many images this month.

This will be our last competition for the year and we have had some beautiful images presented, Ray has kept us busy with Snapathons and Interclub outings as well as keeping the monthly competitions running online (with a of help from John Giddens).   This has helped to keep our skills honed and I trust we have all made the time to get to know our cameras better.  Hopefully, 2021 will be 100% better than 2020 and with any luck we will have established new clubrooms at the Church of  the Nazarene at Evanston Park which will provide us with all the facilities we need. EOY 

Presentation of trophies will take place on January 20th after the AGM, more details to follow.

Due to the ongoing confusion and drama of our club rooms being smoke and water damaged we once again conducted our monthly competition online.  This months' set subject was Architecture and there were some interesting angles taken.   Our judge was Ross Pollock who gave some pertinent comments to each image.  

During this unusual year's competition there has been a recurring comment made by several of our judges and it has brought to light areas where we are failing ourselves. (I include myself in that category).  The most often given comment by a judge is that some of our images are too soft and not sharp.  Another issue is that of monochrome shots.  The judges remarked that the contrast in our images is very bland. 

With this in mind I am hoping that we can get a guest speaker next year to advise us and demonstrate how we can best improve our images .  There is nothing wrong with the composition in fact quite the opposite.

2020-Inter-club with Adelaide Camera Club (held online)
